My Faux selfie represents my goofy, loving and inspirational, Grandpa, H Alan, “Bud” Frank, who recently passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2019. I was extremely fortunate to share the same birthday and many personal characteristics as my hero, Buddy. My lifelong bond with my grandpa was established early as a baby, when I earned my nickname, Bud-Bud. Growing up around the corner from my Grandpa, ensured that I would turn out similar to him. He taught me many valuable lessons, especially how to embrace a positive mindset and how beneficial positivity is for a society at whole. Bud always made people feel good about themselves. Additionally, Bud was the king of laughter, he knew how to get me going, from his goofy acting to his contagious smile, Buddy was the love guru. We had so many memorable birthdays together, from our classic Buzz Lightyear party to classy steak dinners. Buddy's pool in Providence, RI created endless memories, but my favorite goofball moment of Bud is his shark attacks. Grandpa would let my siblings and I go into the pool a couple minutes prior to his entrance. Once it was time, Bud would open the sliding door of his master bedroom, rip the towel off and run towards the diving board in his speedo. As he springs off the diving board he performs the most elegant swan dive one will ever see, as he hollers, "Shark Attack!" Mr. Sharkman would hold his breath, swimming underwater all the way to the shallow end of the pool, bounce off the far wall towards me, and grab my legs from underwater. Bud was a class act people pleaser.
